@Home app

Interaction design

Activities with people leaving nearby. User-suggested improvements for a neighborhood - to collect them for local city administration / business.

Format: iPhone app (iOS 9)

Challenge: Come up with app idea and develop it up to a high-fidelity interactive prototype.

Result: Idea was used to complete my Intercation Design Capstone project, then my Database Design university course. Some paper-fidelity stages are shown below. Draft designs was created for the portfolio to show the app "in flesh and blood".

Interactive prototype on InVision

Database: During my Database Design university course I've implemented a part of the app on Flask + Postgres. I'm not going to become an SQL developer, but may share code personally for those who interested.

Idea and opportunity area

Raw idea: When I just moved to my current flat I found myself staring at wi-fi networks list thinking "if only I could ask those people where I should threw away dead batteries and lamps". But when I starded interviewing people about thier interaction with neighbours and local areas (in Russia, Israel, Brazil, Belgium and US), I found this area.

Opportunity area:

People

+

Need company for leisure-time activities when friends are far

+

There are no appropriate way (tradition) to reach out to the neighbours

=

A public invite for those who interested

People

+

Wish changes in their area

+

Can't/too lazy to do/initiate the changes themselves

=

Easy way to complain / report

City administration / local business

+

Needs to plan entitlement spendings / to extend it's market presence

+

Has limited research resources

=

Collect (+- analyse) statistics coming from TA directly

Notice, that the prototype doesn't include that other-side part - interface for administrarion/business.

Scenarios

"Know your neighbours" flows

"Change your city" flows

Low-fidelity

Responce on heuristic evaluation: two flows, HE for them and updates, based on it:
